KETAMINE THERAPY
Ketamine therapy, offered at Kalea Wellness in Henderson, Nevada, is an innovative treatment for individuals struggling with depression, anxiety, addiction, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), chronic pain, and other mental health conditions.
Originally developed as an anesthetic, ketamine has emerged as a powerful therapeutic tool, offering rapid and profound improvements in mood and cognitive function, often when other treatments have failed. At Kalea Wellness, ketamine is administered in carefully monitored sessions, often combined with psychotherapy to maximize its therapeutic effects. Our experienced team of medical professionals and therapists guide you through each session, ensuring your comfort and safety while helping you process the insights and emotions that may arise during the experience. It is important to distinguish between recreational use and medical treatment. While ketamine is sometimes misused as a party drug, our approach is entirely clinical, evidence-based, and aimed at improving your mental health. Many medications have the potential for misuse, yet we trust in their effectiveness when prescribed by qualified professionals in the appropriate setting and environment. Ketamine is no different. Each session is conducted under strict medical supervision, adhering to the highest standards of care. The stigma surrounding psychedelic medicine often stems from misconceptions and past misuse, but growing research and evidence show that substances like ketamine, when used responsibly in a therapeutic context, can offer profound benefits for mental health. Our use of ketamine is purely for healing purposes, aligned with the goal of restoring balance and well-being to those in need, and is conducted with utmost respect for the patient’s dignity and values.
With its ability to offer rapid symptom relief, ketamine therapy provides hope for individuals who have not responded to traditional treatments.
WHAT CONDITIONS CAN IT TREAT?
Ketamine therapy offers hope for depression when traditional treatments fall short. Unlike typical antidepressants targeting serotonin and norepinephrine, ketamine targets the NMDA receptor in the brain, swiftly alleviating severe symptoms by promoting neural pathway restoration. Traditional antidepressants often require weeks to months to take effect, where ketamine can provide relief within hours to days after administration, making it particularly beneficial for those experiencing acute distress or treatment-resistant depression.

Treatment plans are tailored to each individual, with session frequency and dosage adjusted as needed. A typical protocol may include six sessions over a few weeks, followed by maintenance sessions spaced further apart as needed to sustain the therapeutic benefits.

In addition to ketamine sessions, psychotherapy (talk therapy) plays a crucial role in treatment. Integrating psychotherapy, such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) or mindfulness-based approaches, alongside ketamine treatment can enhance long-term outcomes by addressing underlying psychological factors contributing to depression. The frequency and duration of psychotherapy sessions will depend on individual needs and treatment goals, often involving regular sessions throughout the course of ketamine treatment and beyond to support ongoing mental health.
